Published on In Paris

A few steps from the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Hotel des Mines invites you to immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of the Latin Quarter. The quarter’s places of learning such as the Sorbonne, its monuments such as the Pantheon, as well as its countless cafes, bookstores, arthouse cinemas and shops, make it a vibrant place. And to fully immerse yourself in this very Parisian ambiance, head to the Paradis Latin and its celebrated revue entitled L’Oiseau Paradis…

The Paradis Latin: a page of history

Founded by Napoleon at the very beginning of the 19th century, the Paradis Latin enjoyed unprecedented success from its opening. However, it was Gustave Eiffel who gave it the form we see today and designed its characteristic architecture. Today, the Paradis Latin continues to build on the classic foundations of the form of entertainment known as cabaret, with its spectacle, sensuality and superb dancers. And it is this tradition that is perpetuated today by a revue that has become legendary: L’Oiseau Paradis (The Bird of Paradise). Reclaiming the roots of cabaret and revisiting them with a good dose of modernity and contemporary aesthetics, this stunning show combines the best of yesterday and today.

A host of talents

L’Oiseau Paradis is a show that boasts some big names. Kamel Ouali, the star choreographer of television and musicals, returns here to his first love: the cabaret. The former Miss France, Iris Mittenaere, a magnificent revue leader, commands attention with her charm and charisma. Finally, from the costumes to the sets, the best people on the Parisian theatre scene contributed to this high-flying spectacle. It all adds up to the magic of a dazzling spectacular.

During your stay at the Hotel des Mines, remember to book an evening at the Paradis Latin. In addition to the delicious dinner created by chef Guy Savoy, you will relish the exceptional revue that is L’Oiseau Paradis.
